Billed as the most outrageous Halloween event in the world, the Village Halloween Parade is one of New York's most lively and colourful parties. It attracts over two million onlookers and more than 50,000 scarily-clad participants every year. Towering papier-mâché puppets are a regular feature, as are bands, dancers, stilt-walkers, jugglers, breakdancers and a whole lot of freaks.
