Place : Locations throughout Madrid and its region
Various including Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro Madrid, Circulo de Bellas Artes and Teatro Albéniz
Madrid, Spain

Date : 15 Oct 2007 - 18 Nov 2007

Each year the Community of Madrid (the city and its autonomous region) organises a wide-ranging cultural programme, staged in various locations in the city itself, and also in surrounding towns such as Fuenlabrada and Alcala de Henares. Classical music and theatre tend to predominate, but the programme is varied and includes jazz and modern dance, readings, a book show and writer's workshop. The Autumn Festival (Festival de Otono) showcases performing arts companies from Spain and around the world, and extracts from past programmes include Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale", “Macbeth” and “Othello” and Sophocles' “Antigone”. Performance languages vary, but all plays have subtitles in Spanish
